Daniel Schiffman, Esq
  Daniel Schiffman is recognized as a legendary gaming law expert, while conducting a general commercial practice.  He has an enviable reputation as a transactional adviser, draftsperson and negotiator, providing dispute resolution and litigation services, in collaboration when advisable, with an international network of experts in their respective fields.  His high regard in the strictly regulated gaming industry serves well in his position of Vice President for Support Services of Spectrum Gaming Group, the world leader in gaming consultancy, and as a Director of the invitational International Masters of Gaming Law www.IMGL.org 
   Dan has been appointed as a trusted guardian ad litem, court evaluator, mediator, special master, referee and receiver by several courts.  His recognition in The Best Lawyers in America is an unusual distinction for a solo practitioner who limits client intake to his personal workload.    He is admitted to practice in New York's State and federal courts, federal appellate courts for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Circuits, and The United States Supreme Court, holds a BBA in Accountancy from the City College of New York and practiced accountancy by day while attending New York University Law School, where he still holds the singular distinction of Law Review membership and presidency of the Pre-Bar Association while attending as an evening student.  He served terms as Legal Secretary to the Chief City Magistrate of New York, as Counsel to the Administrator of Puerto Rico's  Economic Development Administration, and Counsel to the Migration Division of the Puerto Rico Labor Department, which gave him the opportunity to negotiate fair and reasonable working conditions for seasonal agricultural workers. He also served as a Legal Advisor to the U.S. General Service Administration, California's Little-Hoover Commission and The New York City Junior Chamber of Commerce.
   As a lecturer and writer, his contributions to ALI-ABA include co-chairing three multi-day gaming law courses; for PLI, its courses on Bar examination preparation and judgment enforcement; for the  American Bar Association in multiple Gaming Law programs; for the World Gaming Congress on General Practice and business issues as well as gaming law; and in seminars for IMGL and IAGA.
Written work includes contributing authorship of Casino Credit and Collection Law, IAGA, 1989 and International Casino Law, University of Nevada, Reno, 1991; 1993, 1999.  He has been a member of the Editorial Board of Gaming Law Review (Liebert), since its 1997 inception, and a columnist for The Gaming Lawyer, Global Gaming Business Magazine, and Casino Enterprise Management Magazine. His 2022 comment on New Yorks redefinition of gambling for Gaming Law Review appears at 26 Gaming Law Review 228 (No.4, May 2022)

   As a former professional musician, Dan's civic activities gravitate toward support of the arts and encouragement of young people. He served decades-long terms as an Officer and Trustee of the American Symphony Orchestra, and as Music Chairman, a Governor and an Officer of the National Arts Club, where he remains a member of the Governance and Admissions Committees. Among his business interests, he is Founding President and Executive Producer of the award-winning music label Cala Records. He remains a member of The American Federation of Musicians, Local 802, as well as The Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
